Overall, we had a great time here. The hotel is beautiful and the cleaning staff is highly dedicated. However, one of the “penthouse” rooms that we booked did not have a real door and so we could hear virtually everything in the room next door and vice versa. This was misleading and uncomfortable. I would stay here again but only in the more private, noise-reduced suites.
The hotel isn’t far off the main road but just far enough that it felt very private. Although there’s construction nearby we didn’t find it to be a problem and you can’t blame the resort for something out of their control. When pulling into the parking lot we were quickly greeted by the 24hr security guard which made us feel much safer leaving our rental there. They have a few bikes to use as well as an outdoor dining area where you can help yourself to coffee, tea, and even a large 5 gallon of drinkable water to refill your own bottles. The property also has a small gym which we didn’t see but may be worth checking out if you stay for longer. We chose the garden view villa which came with a full fridge, microwave, toaster oven, blender, coffee machine, and plenty of pots/pans and kitchen essentials. They also included some other things we didn’t think of like a large drink pitcher and even a small cooler which I’m sure you could use to take to the beach. There is plenty of storage which could be great for more extended stays and there’s even a washer/dryer combo machine in the unit but you’ll need to get detergent. There’s also a small safe which is yet another item that gives you more peace of mind. The only thing that can be kind of difficult is getting strong wifi connection all throughout the room but areas near the front should be fine and either way they clarify that when you check in. Overall this place was great for what it offered and we hope to stay there again!
I enjoyed my stay overall. The first unit I stayed in had a very strong mildew odor, which is not completely unexpected in the humid conditions of the area. I was hoping it would dissipate after opening windows and allowing air to circulate but it did not. It was also pretty humid and damp inside the unit so I asked to be moved. The hotel was extremely understanding and I was moved to a higher unit with no issues. The service more than made up for everything and I would return for that alone. The location is great for access to downtown Tulum and the hotel offers free use of bicycles to get around. I would stay here again if looking for a budget-friendly place.
Great experience, great staff, clean hotel, happy people. Highly recommend Amaka hotel. My only recommendation: check the location well to make sure it works for you. Having access to a car made my stay much more comfortable!
The property manager was very professional and kind. We arrived later then expected and he waited for us. He walked us over to our room and showed us a surprise. It was our bed with rose petals and towel designs. He was very attentive and available. Our room was beautiful and the hotel and pool was picture perfect. It's very very quiet and lowkey. I had a hard time finding it since it was dark but worth it
Beautiful newly opened boutique hotel. Great pool area. The staff was very accommodating. They gave great recommendations for restaurants in the vicinity. The manager Nicolas was a gem. I had a zoom interview during my stay and the WiFi in the room was not great, while they were tending the situation he offered his office to me so that I would be able to conduct my interview with great WiFi & privacy. Over all great place to stay will definitely revisit!!!
I would stay here again!! It was nice and peaceful.
The owner, his family and his employees took excellent care of us. Extremely attentive and caring, always available to help and give recommendations. They really made our stay. The rooms are very nicely decorated and the layout is also good. The pool area is, as seen in the pictures, pretty relaxing. The only issue with the property is that it is indeed a little bit out of the way. It’s nice to have bikes available for free, but taxis can be expensive if you plan to go to Tulum beach daily. In the end my friend and I were happy to be away from the hustle and bustle of the beach and would recommend this property - no problem about the location if you’re going to be driving.
The staff was so nice and beautiful people. They are very helpful and make you feel like family in a way. The cab driver that dropped us off forgot to give us my friend's bag. The manager jumped in his car in search of the cab driver! He returned with my friend's bag it was so amazing! I love the jungle looking atmosphere and every detail of the space. The rooms are like apartments, very cute and clean. The pool is open late, which is a plus. We rode the free bikes to the store and to go eat at a restaurant. It was so much fun. I would definitely come back and next time get a room with a personal pool!
I loved this boutique hotel so much! I can't wait to go back and I recommend this place with out a doubt if you want to go to Tulum and you are looking for a peaceful place and also near all the places and fun magical Tulum has to offer. I met some great people at the hotel and the stuff was so lovely and helpful.
