It was ideal for our short stay. The staff were helpful and friendly, operating during a difficult lock down time. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Good 6.0
Pool booked
Pool was booked up days in advance, so kids couldn't swim.

Fair 4.0
The restaurant/bar service was woeful. Although I'd booked a table, walk-ins seem to take priority when it came to placing orders. After 10 minutes neither a drink or food menu arrived, even after catching their eye on several occasions and noticing people complaining about the long wait for food to arrive. After 20 minutes, patience fraying, I downloaded the Just Eat app and ordered a take-away. It sounds a bit petty now but it didn't half make my blood boil. Also, who the hell puts a wall light fitting, with sharp edges, at head height and just inside your room as you walk in? Answer; this hotel. I have the scar on my head to prove it (see picture, the light was not on at the time).

Poor 2.0
Never again
Initial room given had one double bed in it , we are a family of 1 adult , a 15 yrs and a 11 yr old Second room given when we opened the door already was occupied by a family who were in the room Then given a suite as there were no other rooms . The room had clearly not been used for a while , thick with dust and bathroom filthy Had booked to use swimming pool. We were not told that the spa would not provide towels so had to use the towels from the room ( would have brought my own so did not use the same towels to swim and shower) The changing room was definitely in need of some redecorating ) it was horrible) Breakfast was table service . My son was served first ( a dried up cooked breakfast that had clearly been sitting for a while ) myself and my daughters were served 20 minutes later and what was served was not what we ordered . The hotel was very tired , needs significant redecoration and cleaning A number of the hand sanitising stations were empty and staff were definitely not social distancing or sanitising hands ( at all ) It was chaotic from start to finish . Not enough staff and no one seemed to be providing any leadership or management. We could not wait to get out of there Really disappointing and we will not be back

Exceptional 10.0
We stayed for a few nights over the half-term. Great base for travelling further north to Pitlochry and Bruar etc. Also for St Andrews, Edinburgh and Carnoustie. We would like to make special mention of a member of staff, Jamie, that provided exceptional and helpful service. The room we originally booked was unavailable and the hotel immediately sorted this out, which meant an upgrade for which we were truly grateful as we had a child in tow and it was late. We has asked if the pool was open and were told it was by appointment only. We rang to book a slot the next day and it was full, however, without our knowledge, Jamie booked us a slot as he knew they were running out and thought we might want one. The hotel was extremely watchful of the COVID restrictions, it was impeccably clean and we felt safe. If you need to travel for business or family we would highly recommend the Landmark.
