Great hotel
Really enjoyed the funky decor and the bar. Will definitely stay here again!

Stay for the feel, come back for the people.
Overall the hotel was very nice. Not great marks for breakfast. The bed was a bit hard for my taste. I wish it was a bit more convenient for what we were in town for, but that's not the hotels fault. The look and feel of the place was great. A definite upgrade over the usual hotel look. We didn't take advantage of the pool, restaurants or other amenities while here. The single reason our experience was so great, was the staff. The staff was amazing. Front Desk, housekeeping, valet, everyone. I've never had a more attentive and friendly hotel staff at any place I've stayed. Good mornings and hellos all day, and always a smile no matter the person or time of day. All extremely helpful when asked any question. They are this hotel's biggest asset and I hope it doesn't change. The Cheshire will be on our list of places to stay again the next time we are in town.

The help at the hotel were nothing short of wonderful. However the cleanliness of the rooms was lacking much needed attention!

Not a Great Stay
Not the best stay this time. AC did not work and when it was reported no one came. Spent the night in a very warm room. Was able to be place in a different room the following evening only to have the desk not mark it in use. Someone else had been assigned the room and only because we had the extra door lock on they weren't able to walk in on us and then housekeeping did the same thing the next morning.

Nice ambiance despite some hiccups
Hotel is beautiful - lots of dark wood and leaded glass. Room was very nice, comfy bed. Bathroom was a bit weird: the shower was one of those without a door, but the shower head faced directly outwards so the bathroom flooded every time. I think the amenities listing needs to be updated, too: there was a perfectly decent continental breakfast (cereal, pastries, yogurt, with some scrambled eggs in a warming dish) but if there ever was a "full English breakfast" they have definitely stopped that practice now. No big deal but I was kind of let down. Also our room was never visited by housekeeping despite having our "please clean" hanger on the door all morning one day and then all afternoon the next day. We would not have cared except we needed more towels because of the shower. Overall, very nice, though. Loved Basso on site. Walk to the zoo! Definitely visit again.
