A tired hotel in need of care, attention and updat

A tired hotel that needs love, care and attention. At the entrance to reception is an almost dead palm in a pot and detritus in what was once a water fountain. What a greeting. I stayed in this hotel when it first opened and it looks badly in need of an update. Room phone was not working so could not call reception to ask for a repair to a bed lamp or the absence of porch furniture. Bathroom looked dingy and bathtub was worn, a bit stained and all the water didn't drain out fully. Old-fashioned furniture and chipped tiles. The place felt lifeless, albeit clean and tidy The staff tried but the hotel needs more than courtesy and niceness.
