    Great value

The staff was very friendly and helpful and made our stay comfortable even after check out. The area of the hotel is central but very busy and loud.

    Great solo travel hotel

A bit hard to find at first, but it is in the middle of everything. Many shops and restaurants are on the same road and seems to be a shopping hub, mostly for women. Great place to sleep, lock the door, and have a private ensuite full restroom. Equipped with both foreign and US outlet plugs.

    Great solo room for foreigners

Located in a bustling shopping district it felt very safe. Everything does close up at night though and finding an after hours restaurant seemed impossible in all of Cairo, but this was a cozy place to relax and charge myself and my electronics

Be ready to climb the stairs

Let’s start at the beginning. We had booked transport from the airport to the hotel via the hotel directly. It cost $35 USD. We made sure to stress that the transport needed to accommodate 20 pieces of luggage and 4 large Americans. When the driver lead us to his van, we were shocked to discover that there was no way our luggage and our bodies would fit in the vehicle. It could have been another disaster. I called the hotel and they offered to pay for a taxi to help us get our things and ourselves to the hotel. When we finally arrived at the hotel, we were surprised to find out that it was in a building without an elevator and the long spiral staircase was the only way to get to the floor of the hotel. As a family with lots of luggage, this could have been a nightmare. The front desk rounded up all the available young men and had them bring our bags up from the street. The room was tiny. I shouldn’t complain. The price of the room was super budget friendly, but there was barely enough room to walk and the lights didn’t work in the bathroom. The hotel is rather outdated as they still have actual keys to open the doors and the only way to lock them is to use the key. Breakfast was offered and delivered to our room upon request. It was ok. Nothing exciting. Boiled eggs, natural yogurt, bread sticks, jam, soft cheese and a strange, but delicious bar of some sort, tea and juice. All in all, you get what you pay for. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating.

Central, fairly clean but not great value

Central downtown location, less than 10min walk from Egyptian museum. Slightly hidden, the entrance isn't from the main street but from a side street and unless you're close to the entrance there are no signs. Property in decent shape, fairly clean, bathroom nice. I only stayed one night, leaving early in the morning so I didn't care all that much that they put me in a room that didn't have windows - in this case it meant no street noise and no cold coming from the outside in winter. However, there was a constant noise from some kind of device or pump, switching on every 30 seconds and humming. If it wasn't just one short night, I would consider the price I paid for a windowless room a poor value for my money.
