Perfect central Venice hotel
Staff very helpful and accommodating. Great situation right opposite the railway station on the banks of the grand canal. Easy to walk to everywhere in Venice or get a vaporetto. Roof top bar is a bonus. Too cold for this visit but a definite for the summer.

Lovely hotel on the grand canal, easy to walk to everywhere and a canal boat taxi stop is very close. It is also close to the bus and train station. The room was very nice as were the staff. We had a room overlooking the canal which was a bit noisy even in January, but the view was excellent. We didn’t eat at the hotel but had a drink at the bar which is very nice but rather expensive. Fortunately there are many other restaurants, bars and coffee shops nearby which are good and cheaper. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

My stay in Venice was nade even more great by staying at the Hotel Carlton on the Grand Canal. The receptionist gave me fantastic recomendations for dining. The Hotel is close to the waterbus stop so you can get around the city quickly.

AC was turned off in the whole building because of the season, but that was not disclosed at check-in. We weren't in the room much, but noticed the room never cooled down when we returned. The air was just getting pushed around. There are no window screens so we were a feast for the local mosquitos if we opened the windows. We decided to close the windows to stop feeding the mosquitos, but the room was not pleasant. We only found out about the AC on the last night and that we can ask for a fan. That should've been disclosed when we checked in. The bathroom was a decent size. The tub was a bit narrow, probably typical of Europe, but the faucet location was a bit odd. I actually hit my head one night. It's not a dealbreaker though. The way the window opens in the bathroom should be adjusted. If you have it open, people can see you shower and use the bathroom. It should open the other way so that you can have it open while you shower or use the toilet. The room itself was big and had plenty of space to spread our things around. The location is fantastic because it's across the bridge from the train station so we only had to carry our luggage over one bridge. I would recommend this place in the summer when the AC works or if they ever get window screens.
