I like the shuttle service provided by hotel. Driver was also helpful and friendly. Reception staff are helpful enough as well. However hotel is located in e Hastings n there is a not too pleasant an area where e Hastings n Main Street junction is . A lot of homeless people gather around that area and many behaved as if they were in a world of their own. We learnt later that many are drug addicts . If you're planning to take the public bus back to hotel which is half an hr away from this area, better change the bus at west Hastings . The Vancouver bus drivers are extremely helpful and service oriented people .

if you can't find something else, it will do
The hotel is older but not in terrible condition. Check-in was smooth, but not a lot after that was pleasant. The restaurant is a bar so we had to eat in our room, my burger was ok, but the meat was very fatty. The beds were really uncomfortable and it took a lot to sleep on them. The room (3rd floor) was noisy from the street noise and continued all night long - I've stayed at hotels by the airport and never heard a plane overhead, so I know it's possible to block that with good windows and the right materials. Housekeeping sweeping into their dustpan really loudly prior to 8am finally got me out of bed because I couldn't take it anymore and coupled with the large truck running on the street below us there was no going back to sleep. The shower was built built for someone in a wheelchair to access, but the chair that's supposed to fold against the wall when not in use didn't stay folded up so we were bending over it backwards to wash our hair. My son is nearly 6' and had to wait until we returned home to shower. The breakfast was standard hotel fare with the thinnest strips of bacon I've ever seen and the syrup was really flavorless, while the waffles were the oddest color of yellow. Bottom line, stay somewhere else.

I have never had what they call a breakfast off disposable plates with plastic cutlery before. The hotel looks better in the photos than in person when you finally get there.

Not so good of a stay this time...
I've stayed here several times before, but this time was different. Not impressed at all !! Between the lighting fixtures - missing 3 light bulbs. The office desk chair was horribly broken. Weeds growing out of the cracks on the balcony, which alsi needs a good pressure washing BAD. The shower head leaks. Staff was GREAT, and it looks like they were renovating, but this stay was not the best by far.

Wouldn't Recommend it
This is an aging hotel that is nowhere as nice as the photos indicate. We asked for a quiet room so faced out over the alleyway and backyards of houses. The furnishings are showing their age. Our king bed was not very comfortable and the pillows were small and firm. I spent part of the night on the love seat, which was softer but sagged in the middle as most pull out sofas tend to do. I saw many new mattresses in the atrium so maybe they were changing them out. The breakfast was fine, scrambled eggs, yogurts, croissants etc. Nice breakfast area.
