    Profile: Downtown Kansas City

Downtown Kansas City is situated south of the Missouri River, and was voted one of America’s best Downtowns thanks to its incredible mix of arts, architecture, and entertainment. Head to the Power and Light District, dominated by striking contemporary architecture and steely skyscrapers, to catch live music and theater performances.

Downtown Kansas City is also renowned for its food, especially smoldering barbeque. Indulge in dimly-lit pubs or huge grill houses. Don’t miss a trip to Kansas City Live! – an entire block dedicated to live music venues, night clubs, and entertainment.

      Early December stay

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff was short-handed. The valet parking staff was extremely understaffed, and wait times to retrieve a vehicle were too long. Rooms were comfortable and clean.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, the air in the room did not work well and it was very uncomfortable. The housekeeping was acceptable but the room was very dusty.

Restaurant food was cold, expensive, and took over an hour to be served. No offer for a cocktail and water was not refilled.

The hotel was beautiful. Property itself was excellent. Clean cozy beds. Service was lacking. Check in wasn’t horrible, but front desk man was a little rude and direct. I stayed one night, as he was checking me in he looked at my reservation and stated “you are only staying one night… there will be absolutely no late check out”. I had never even suggested or mentioned any kind of late check out. They offered vale parking which I accepted. The vale told me call down a few minutes before I want to leave and they will have my car ready. The next morning when I was ready to leave I attempted to call the front desk and the vale number repeatedly through the morning as I got my things ready. Nobody ever answered. I finally came down stairs to find 6-7 employees at the front desk and 3 people in line as well as myself and several others waiting on vale, which was separate from the front desk. Only two employees at the front desk were helping guests while the rest just stood around watching. (The ones watching appeared to possibly management). As I waited for the vale, who was extremely polite, pull my car around I over heard the front desk ringing. As it rang I heard one of the employees who was just standing around say “don’t answer any of the phones”. I also overheard another employee talking about they were having computer system problems, which I completely understand. But for as many employees present and as few guests, it was not pleasant to receive no customer service.

This was the honeymoon from hell. We couldn’t check in at 3 so we had to sit in the lobby with no estimate of when we would be about to check in. Chiefs game was at 7 and still was not about to check in before the game. Customer service was not the priority. Valet was a complete is disaster and lost our keys. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. We only stayed one night and that was one night too much.
