    Astoria Riverwalk Stay

When we first arrived we were happy that they were able to check in an hour earlier. As we checked our room we noticed that the sliding door to the wonderful view on the balcony couldn't be locked. There was some candy wrapper on the floor by the bed and the lamp post by the table had no knob on the top and the side so we couldn't turn the lamp on. Other then that our stay was really nice since we did mostly sightseeing and only slept in the room before leaving. Lots of parking space which made it easier and friendly staff. I still would recommend this hotel.

    Great stop for a night!

The check in was quick, the staff were friendly and helpful. The location and view were great. Easy to walk into town. It is an older place and could use updates but it was clean and great for a night’s stay.

  • 6.0.Good

The view of the Columbia was by far the best part. We enjoyed watching the ships and listening to the docked boats. The room was very tired and in desperate need of an update. The tile grout was stained and had spots of mildew, paint was chipping, and the mirrors and hardware were rickety. The linens seemed clean, but there was hair in the tub/shower. The $360 peak season price point seemed rather steep for the condition of the hotel. However, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

Wanted nice got old and dirty

We walk in the lady was very nice. We get the room with $50 incidental fee. Go to the room. Take a look around very dated place. Popcorn ceiling. Doors to the deck not in great shape. Step onto the deck dirty. Spiderwebs all over the deck and railings. Tv was another issue couldn"t get by the terms and conditions channel. So called the front desk. Oh no answer so had to go down there. Keep in mind called 6 times. Easy fix but shouldn't have had to do for a room thT you pay $235 before taxes. Then go back to the room get ready to take a shower. The cauling all moldy. Shower curtain has never been cleaned very moldy. I definately felt dirtier after the shower. Al in all staff was nice but clueless. Oh and the breakfast in the morning was biscuits. No gravy because nobody would have eaten it. If you pay the kind of money you would want to be comfortable. Very dissapointed. Would not stay there again . The problem is if they had put any money into the place in the last 20 years it could be so nice.

    Would recommend

A lovely motel style hotel on the marina. It looks like a motel from the outside but the rooms were more of the hotel quality. Gorgeous gardens with picnic benches next to the river and the marina on the other side with great views. Very clean room.

    Guests be aware

Was given a parking pass permit for an ungated parking lot and received a parking ticket from the Port of Astoria for 25 dollars. when I reported this to the hotel clerk she stated that I can call or visit the port authority, show them the pass and they would most likely forgive the fine. No. The Port employee told us that she was sorry this happened to us and that will be 25 dollars please. I also made the reservation for a pet friendly room and was charged an additional 15 dollars per dog once I arrived. There was no mention of this anywhere in the pre-registration. We will not be staying there again. There are too many other good hotels in town.

    Hot days

Unfortunately we were a pretty last minute reservation and had to be moved from originally selected room because the request for dog friendly had not come through. It was run down, dirty bathroom floor, uncomfortable bed. And unfortunately we arrived on the hottest day and there's no air-conditioning. But the staff was great and we loved having a balcony looking at the river!
