Everything was great other than the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable and I rented a motorcycle for a night to ride to Kyoto the next day and they refused to let me keep it anywhere on property, I had to find a parking garage 20 mins away which ended up costing me with Ubers and parking fees.

Quiet location, great views, bad service
We stayed for 4 nights- adult and 2 (teenagers). We had the twin corner balcony room. Check in was fairly quick and easy; room was as expected. We liked the views and the extra space on the corner balcony. However, the room was small, bathroom/toilet very far from private as there was a pocket door separating the living room from the bathroom area. There was too much black everywhere and the closet was so dark, you could not see your clothes. Pillows and bed were not comfortable. The TV remote is in Japanese so it took 2 hotel staff people to come and figure out how to use it in English. Only 2 people could sit on the small bench on the balcony as the other bench was chained to the floor and was on the other side of the side balcony so it could not be moved. The service I must say was terrible. The receptionist at check in did not let us know about the restaurant, bakery or any other facilities at the hotel. We were handed at print out. We used the buffet breakfast which was good but felt expensive at $25/person. We did enjoy the bakery (which is connected to the restaurant) however after spending 3000 JYEN, we were told we could not eat our croissants at the tables in the restaurant inside or outside, while there were NO people there at the time! We could not eat in the lobby and we were literally told by the staff that we could only go sit outside on a bench in the small PUBLIC PARK in 98 degree weather (37C). The 'concierge' didn't know much about the area.

Overall a nice place to stay but like too many hotels the heavy down comforter on the bed cooks the guest at night, making sleep sweaty and fitful. In addition, there’s only one way to turn on all the lights in the room with the room key. We couldn’t figure out how to just have one light on. Both of these shortcomings affect the environment and made our stay less than optimal.
