The Capitol Hotel Tokyu - Tokyo
Overall a disappointment
The hotel and the room itself is nice, a bit spartan for the price though. However, I found the hotel service to be poor. My Nespresso machine was broken, and I asked for it to be fixed/replaced twice over the course of two days. I made this request on the way out of the hotel and on neither occasion did they fix the machine. On the day I checked out, I had a flight at 11pm that evening. I asked if it would be possible to take a shower at the spa or gym etc (not in a room) in the evening before I left. I have made this request in many other hotels before and they have always been accommodating. I was shocked when the Capitol refused my request, saying that it was against hotel rules. I tried explaining that I wasn’t asking for access to a room, just the common shower facilities but they refused to budge. I would not recommend that anyone stay here, for the price, you expect a luxury experience and service to match, which you do not get here.

Excellent stay with convenient access to subway
Excellent lodgings for our 5 night stay with our 5 month old baby - a comfortably modern luxurious room and bathroom. To echo other reviewers' comments - clean and really well maintained property. Fantastic service level throughout the hotel (concierge, bell service, housekeeping). We were fortunate to have been given a free upgrade to a premier room, which accorded us a much appreciated larger room and bathroom with amazing views. Bathroom deserves special mention - largest we've seen in a Tokyo hotel! Room came with all the amenities expected of a 5-star hotel. Heated indoor swimming pool on the 15th floor was great for laps. Dined once for dinner at Suiren (the hotel's Japanese restaurant), as it was raining heavily outside - excellent sushi set and bento box set, and delicious black bean ice cream. Chose to stay here as the area is a lot quieter (than where we have stayed in the past eg Shibuya or Shinjuku), as we have baby in tow this round -- and the access to subway lines in the basement was perfect for us - as it rained quite a bit during our stay, hence convenient for us to get around with baby via underground access. Airport bus drops off and picks up from this hotel. Highly recommend!

Fantastic service and convenient to metro stations
Fantastic hotel in a central location, right above 3 subway lines. Excellent service, outstanding breakfast (and late evening desserts). Very helpful staff, especially with recommendations for sight-seeing and how to get around town. Highly recommended, especially for business travelers and those seeking a quiet, luxury property with reasonable rates.

The Capitol Hotel Tokyu - Tokyo
From the architecture, to the service, to the furnishings this has been one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Some places may be more opulent, but few will be as beautiful as the Capitol. Great value too... can’t wait to go back!
