The property is located in a quiet place surrounded by beautiful scenery. It has all the conveniences of a home including washer and dryer in the deluxe suite. The wifi connectivity was pretty bad though. Also, very few dining options around and all of them were overcrowded over the Holiday season.

Would not stay here!
Would not recommend at all. When we arrived the house smelled like mildew. It stated there were dehumidifiers that would be running, they were not. Of the 2 provided only one actually worked. Within an hour of being there, the propane fireplace ran out of propane. And, when we tried to use the 2 space heaters provided (at the same time) they kept tripping the breaker. When I attempted to contact someone there was no emergency number listed on the paper work or online at all! The beds were clean, but super uncomfortable. You could feel every spring and hear it creak whenever you moved. Blankets were mismatched and super dated. There were cobwebs in the shower. When I was showering the water just shut off and wouldn't turn back on. Since it's a rainwater catchment system I assume it ran out?! Terrible rental, especially at $400 for the night.

We stayed at the Lava Lodge Jade house. It was a lovely abode surround by the sounds of nature. The house was clean and well kept and offered the seeming seclusion of being deep in a rainforest jungle. It was an amazing place to stay. Highly recommend.

The check in was at the Tru Value store nearby which I thought was different. The room we had was clean. It included a bowl of mixed fruit and muffins. It also had a 3 gallon jug of purified water that was filled almost daily. Due to the altitude, it rained every day we were here. Not good for us since we vacationed in Hawaii for the sun! The good thing is that it was about a mile from the entrance to Volcano Natl. Park which we visited twice. The bad is that it’s about 40 minutes from Hilo which we spend almost every day so lots of driving and gas fill ups. Our housekeeper Norma Jean was great though!! Very attentive and respectful!! All in all it was a nice stay but next time I’ll research the weather before reserving my next stay.

We lived in Wolfie Suite-1 which is a pleasant cozy unit with a separate living room. It's 7 mins drive from the entrance of Volcano National Park, which made it very convenient for us to do multiple visits in a day. Would definitely recommend staying there!
