I absolutely can NOT in good conscience recommend the Millenium Hotel.
We stayed overnight from Nov. 23-24, 2022. The room was comfortable and the view was nice. But the first problem was a lack of consistency in their policy for a check-out time; on Hotels.com it says 11:00, but the door of the room says 12:00. I asked at the front desk, and she said usually it’s 12:00 but due to staff shortage they wanted people out earlier; but then added (without me asking), “but I’ll let you stay [until noon], that’s fine.” I was grateful, but later annoyed when the cleaning lady (who didn’t speak good English) pounded on the door at 11:30 insisting that we needed to leave now…even though I assured her that the front desk had said otherwise.
However [a MUCH BIGGER issue], the hotel charged us $89.76 at check-in (not the usual $75 for incidentals), despite the room having already been prepaid in advance. When it was never refunded, I had to call literally about 10 times over the past six weeks, talking to maybe half a dozen different people, trying to get our money back. I began considering a lawsuit. The worst was when, just last week (so, FIVE weeks after our stay), the supervisor acknowledged the mistake and said he put a credit through, but we might not see it in our bank for a few days; only later did I find out that what he really did was CHARGE us another $89.76! Instead of refunding. No joke!! Only YESTERDAY, we finally got the appropriate credit refunded. Beware!
