Stayed 2 nights at Phori's House on the Hill and it was one of the best stays I've had in a village. The place was beautifully designed, with thoughtful touches to the design. There are a total of 5 rooms in the house itself, and each room is furnished with towels, a fan, a table, bath towels etc. It gets pretty cold at night in Ta Van, Sapa, so aircon is not necessary at all. What completely blew my mind was the service. Vu, who contacted me via Whatsapp a day before my check in, was on call virtually through text with me throughout our 3D2N stay there. From helping to book cabs, to advising on where we can go for meals, to booking treks, to helping us call locals (local spas, local buses) to check for information, Vu was completely on the ball. They went above and beyond to assist us and it made all the difference. I will miss waking up to an amazing view at Phori's House.
Do note though, that Phori's House is quite a climb - some steep slopes, so those with mobility issues or heavy luggages may want to consider elsewhere. Also, mosquitoes are aplenty - a common feature in the villages, so bring mosquito repellent, mosquito coils etc. No complains whatsoever about the place, 5/5 will recommend.
