Dated Hotel
This property does not meet the standards of a Marriott. (This is the old Thunderbird Hotel and to me it has a motel like feel to it.) It is dated and the rooms show it. In addition, Marriott status and AmEx status seem not to matter. When I asked if they would upgrade us, I honestly think the front desk associate downgraded us, lol (The hotel was NOT full and they stuck us in a pretty rough room.) The rooms are very small, beds old and uncomfortable, rooms dated. In general, it's an old asset and it shows. Given the age of the building, this just simply does not seem to have the noise insulation of newer buildings. Obviously, this is an airport hotel and very convenient to MSP which is a plus; however, with that there is a lot of air traffic (which is to be expected) However, the over night flights were loud... A plus is most of the staff were friendly and it is only a 7 min ride to MSP. They have a shuttle service to the airport every 30 min which was efficient. Take away...There are many hotels in the area and this is simply tired and outdated.
