Where to stay near Legoland Malaysia

Legoland Hotels

There’s something about Legoland which captures the imaginations of kids and adults alike, and Legoland Malaysia might be the most impressive one yet. Located in Nusajaya, it’s just a hop across the border from Singapore. As well as the largest, splashiest water park of any Legoland Resort, there’s also a Miniland featuring Lego creations of top Asian landmarks. Plus, with the adrenaline-fuelled rides and hands-on building for the family to get involved in, it’s a day of adventure you won’t forget.

Things to see

Legoland is nothing if not a visual feast. Even before you hit the rides, you’ll be in awe of the gigantic Lego creations all around you. Kids will be keen to find their favourite Star Wars character in the themed Miniland, and you can spot famous sights like the Taj Mahal in a mini city which took 3 million Lego bricks to build. It comes to life at the touch of a button. Older kids will be raring to hit the fast-paced water rides, while the Duplo playtown and smaller rides are designed for little ones. When you’re feeling inspired, head to the Imagination zone, where you can put your own Lego inventions to the test.

Elsewhere in Nusajaya, there’s more family fun to be had at the waterfront Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park. Beloved kids’ characters including Hello Kitty and Bob the Builder provide storybook adventures and carnival-style shows.

Hotels in Legoland

If you don’t want to leave the Legoland magic behind at the end of the day, then why not stay in the Legoland hotel? Kids will love the themed rooms, snuggling up under pirate bedcovers, or excavating for Egyptian treasures in the box of Lego. Parents will appreciate the suites with adjoining rooms and helpful facilities, like 24-hour room service and an airport shuttle. Plus, with 3 restaurants and an outdoor pool, there’s plenty to enjoy throughout the day. There are several other luxury hotels near Legoland, also designed with families in mind, some with deluxe apartments for flexible self-catering.

Where to stay

If you want the full Legoland experience, then you can’t beat staying at the onsite hotel. It means that there’s no travel involved getting to and from the park, and there’s certainly plenty in the resort to keep you busy for more than 1 day. Plus, it’s easy to get to other attractions on the harbour, and the airport shuttle service means that transport is completely stress-free. Alternatively, you could stay in the Puteri Harbour area, overlooking the water. This is Nusajaya’s flagship tourism area, so it’s packed with chic restaurants and gleaming shopping malls, as well as theme parks. Somerset Medini Iskandar Puteri and Holi Afiniti Themed Suites are two hotels near Legoland.

How to get to Legoland

Billed as the best-connected city in Southeast Asia, getting to Nusajaya is a breeze. There are two international airports within an hour’s drive. Senai International is the closest, about 30 kilometres to the north of Legoland, and is served by flights from across Southeast Asia. The large hotels can arrange roundtrip airport shuttles for you from Senai. If you’re coming from further afield, it can be easier to take a direct flight to Singapore’s Changi Airport. There are public buses and dedicated Legoland shuttle services which depart frequently from the airport and central bus station, or you can hire a car.
