Wat Them Sua Hotels

A few minutes northeast from the town of Krabi, Wat Them Sua sits nestled up high amongst lush swathes of jungle. Wat Them Sua is also known by its translation ‘Tiger Cave Temple’ – a name that stems from the legend of a giant tiger, said to have once resided within the main cave. Nowadays it’s home to Buddhist monks, as well as a rowdy gang of monkeys that roam the temple grounds. Whilst the 30 to 40-minute climb up to the temple can be quite arduous, the panoramic views of the leafy rainforests, limestone cliffs, and glittering ocean make it entirely worth the effort. The beating heart of Krabi’s town centre come the weekend, the market’s stalls overflow with handicrafts, fashion, and souvenirs – all for affordable prices. How to get to Wat Them Sua

Krabi International Airport is the province’s primary gateway for overseas visitors. Offering connections to mainly Asian destinations, the busy hub is linked to major airports like Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi, making it easy to get a connecting flight should you be coming from further away. Once you’ve landed at Krabi International you can get to Krabi town via taxi or shared minibus, which usually takes around 15-minutes. Getting to Wat Them Sua shouldn’t be any trouble either. You can travel by mini-bus, taxi, or tuk-tuk from most places, or via a traditional songthaew bus instead. The latter is a particularly fun way to travel, and services leave from both Krabi town and Ao Nang.
