Situated on the Cotai Strip just opposite the Venetian Macao, you’ll see the four-towered City of Dreams. A gleaming modern complex home to luxury hotels, designer shops, and upscale restaurants, it also features a casino and the renowned Dancing Water Theatre. That’s not to say the surrounding area is devoid of any history or culture however. Moments away, Taipa Village offers a glimpse into the region’s rich blend of Chinese and Portuguese heritage. Here narrow cobbled streets are lined with elegant colonial architecture, where you’ll find traditional Chinese shophouses, small temples, the fragrant Food Street, and the prim green abodes of the Taipa Houses-Museum.

How to get to The Grand Canal Shoppes

The Grand Canal Shoppes and the Venetian Macao are just 5 minutes from Macau International Airport, making it an ideal gateway for anyone flying in. Since it mainly serves Asian destinations however, those coming from further afield may have to making a connecting flight via a larger airport, such as Singapore Changi or Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. Another potential entry point is Hong Kong International Airport, which offers ferry services to the Macau Ferry Terminal once you land. From there it’s just a short taxi or bus ride to Cotai. However you arrive though, many hotels near the Grand Canal Shoppes offer the convenience of free airport transfers.
