A 128-metre-long aerial walkway, the OCBC Skyway is one of the park’s most popular attractions. Offering picturesque views from 22 metres up, it’s linked to 2 of the parks ‘Supertrees’ – towering tree-shaped sculptures that function as vertical gardens, and illuminate at night. Gardens by the Bay is also home to a children’s garden, which features a quirky water play area, as well as several eateries dotted about the site to relax in. Opened in 1929, Singapore City Hall was the focal point of many of the country’s defining events, including the acceptance of Japan’s surrender in 1945.

A grand example of neoclassical architecture, with its towering Corinthian columns and aqua-coloured dome, today it serves as a venue for the National Gallery Singapore dazzling art collection. Nearby, you’ll find the National Museum of Singapore. Housed within another palatial building, it’s engaging exhibits and eclectic artefacts detail the country’s rich history.

When you’ve landed it’s around a 21-kilometre journey to central Singapore. You can get to your accommodation by taxi, or head to the airport’s station for the Mass Rapid Transit subway network. Hopping off at Marina Bay Station (situated on the North South and Circle lines) will put you a short walk from Gardens by the Bay.
