Find out more about Dancing Water Theatre

Dancing Water Theater Hotels

If you catch only one show during your visit to the ‘Las Vegas of Asia’, make sure it’s at Cotai’s Dancing Water Theatre. A one of a kind extravaganza, the water-based show is performed within a purpose-built state-of-the-art venue, which boasts a 3.7 million gallon pool as its centrepiece. Together with dazzling stage effects, a top-notch troupe of actors, dancers, gymnasts and circus artists bring to life the timeless love story of a stranger and a princess.

Things to see

Performed within a 2000-seater 270-degree venue, the 90-minute production is one of the most extravagant in the region. The theatre is part of Cotai’s City of Dreams, a modern resort complex recognized by its four gleaming towers. Alongside luxury accommodation, the hub is also home to luxury label shopping, international dining, and a sprawling 420,000 square-foot mega-casino. Situated on the Cotai Strip, directly opposite the City of Dreams, you’ll see The Venetian Macao. Modelled on the glitzy Las Vegas establishment, it too features a wealth of accommodation and amenities, as well as a casino and the Cotai Arena. Seating 15,000, the Cotai Arena is the go-to venue for many of the area’s most prominent events, from major basketball games and boxing matches, to musical concerts from some of the world’s biggest stars. A short drive away, the Taipa Houses-Museum offers a fascinating look back in time. It features five elegant homes built in 1921 by well-off Portuguese families, carefully restored to their former glory.

Hotels in Dancing Water Theater

Alongside the multi-story hotels within the same complex, there are many more hotels near Dancing Water Theater to choose from too. Much of Cotai’s accommodation comes as large-scale casino hotels such as Grand Hyatt Macau, where guests can live it up with a wealth of cushy amenities. Expect multiple restaurants and bars, stylish nightclubs, outdoor swimming pools, and sometimes even full-service spas too. The Cotai hotels near Dancing Water Theater are known for their lavish décor, so you can expect plenty of glamorous touches in-room too. As well as floor-to-ceiling views and plush bedding, many offer high speed internet and large flat-screen TVs. Wynn Palace is one of them.

Where to stay

The Dancing Water Theater is located along the main strip in Cotai. Once a piece of barren, unclaimed land, the area has since been transformed into luminous landscape of gargantuan casino resorts, glossy malls, and world-class show venues, offering plenty to keep you entertained. Whilst the billions that have been poured into the stateside-style development have made everything new and modern, the island offers some historical sites too. Existing in stark contrast to the steely skyscrapers with its colonial architecture and cobbled streets, Taipa Village is a characterful hub to soak up the region’s unique blend of Chinese and Portuguese cultures.

How to get to Dancing Water Theater

Cotai’s nearest major gateway is Macau International Airport - conveniently situated a few short minutes away on Taipa Island’s eastern shore. It serves many major Asian destinations, including Bangkok and Singapore, both of which can provide an initial entry-point into Asia for those visiting from further away. When you’ve landed getting into Cotai’s casino-studded core should be easy. Taxis are in plentiful supply and can whisk you to your accommodation in a matter of minutes, whilst the AP1 bus leaves directly from the airport and drops passengers off a short walk from the Venetian Macao. Better yet, some hotels near Dancing Water Theater offer their guests free airport transfers.
