Universal Studios Singapore Hotels

Since it first opened its gates in 2009, Universal Studios Singapore has swiftly established itself as one of Southeast Asia’s premier theme parks. This gleaming, no-expense-spared attraction pays tribute to the magic of the movies, with a host of fantastical themed zones, and meticulous recreations of Hollywood Boulevard and New York City, all centred around a shimmering, scenic lake. The park is just one of many delightful diversions to be found on Sentosa Island, Singapore’s legendary resort island. Here you’ll also find pristine beaches, a state-of-the-art aquarium and water park, glittering hotels, and tempting restaurants, all jostling for your attention.

Things to see

Universal Studios Singapore boasts an incredible selection of cutting-edge thrill rides, family-friendly amusements, and spectacular live shows, based on some of the most popular movies of all time. Head to Sci-Fi City and make a beeline for Transformers: The Ride, which incorporates mind-blowing 3D film footage into a dazzling motion experience. Then take a trip back in time to Ancient Egypt, and brace yourself for the Revenge of the Mummy, an indoor rollercoaster which plunges thrill-seekers into total darkness, before bringing them face-to-face with a swarm of scarab beetles and a troop of terrifying mummies. If that all sounds a little intense, you may prefer the gentler charms of Madagascar: A Crate Adventure, an enchanting boat ride which uses amazing animatronic technology to bring the beloved family film series to life. The whole family will also love the Shrek 4D Adventure, a fabulous 3D film accompanied by incredible physical special effects, which will make you feel like you’re onscreen with the loveable ogre.

How to get to Universal Studios Singapore

Singapore Changi Airport is one of the world’s busiest airports, served by direct flights from major cities all over the world, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, Los Angeles, Beijing, Tokyo, and Sydney. Once you land, Sentosa Island is around 26 kilometres away. By far the easiest option is to take a taxi – fares are strictly regulated and reasonably priced. A more cost-effective option is to take the MRT train to HarbourFront Station, and then the Sentosa Express from the VivoCity shopping mall, but this will take considerably longer.
