Shopping is a popular activity in Patong, and there are several contemporary malls, traditional markets, and open air shopping centres to keep you occupied. One of the newer malls is the colourful Jungceylon Shopping Center, a complex that offers retail therapy, pampering, dining, and entertainment, with several buildings set around a pleasant square with fountains. Whether you enjoy luxury department stores or charming boutiques, there's something for all sorts of shoppers.

Things to see

The stylish, modern Jungceylon Shopping Center is made up of several buildings that are set around a pleasant courtyard area, the centrepiece of which is a traditional junk boat and several large fountains. Step into the large, open plan shopping arcade and you'll find market stalls on the ground floor full of handmade items such as jewellery and bargain clothing, while the top 2 floors have dozens of stores selling clothes, electricals, and much more.

Across the courtyard you'll find the Robinson department store, which is more focused on upmarket shopping, with perfume counters, designer clothes, and unique souvenirs. Jungceylon Shopping Center opens until late in the evening and has a food court with international favourites, several restaurants, a multiscreen cinema, and a bright, neon-lit arcade with bowling. You'll even find a fascinating shell museum on-site, which has displays of rare shells, with jewellery and trinkets for sale.
