Singapore Hotels

A cultural melting-pot at a global crossroads, Singapore is not easily defined, and travellers have long breezed through without really getting to know it. It’s a country, a city, and a self-contained island, and it has blossomed into one of the most eclectic destinations on earth. Down on the waterfront, futuristic architecture creates a sleekly urban skyline, yet everywhere the presence of the jungle can be felt. It may have a pristine sheen, but underneath, this Lion City roars.

Things to see

Singapore is bursting with attractions, from the refined splendour of the Colonial District to the high-octane entertainment of Sentosa Island. Siloso Beach on Sentosa is a great place to go with the kids – the Underwater Wold and Dolphin Lagoon allows you to splash about with dolphins and shake hands with seals. Nearby, Universal Studios Singapore is a thrilling, cinematic theme park, with whole worlds created from mind-boggling technology, and rides to make your bones shake. There’s also a multitude of free things to do in Singapore, such as a visit to the National Museum of Singapore. Its wealth of historical exhibits and fun activities for children will keep everyone happy for hours. Beyond the centre, urbanity combines with wild jungle to create exotic city parks. The Henderson Waves Bridge takes weekend strolls to new heights - this twisting bridge, made of thousands of curved wooden slats, sails above the treetops.
