New York Business Hotels

Business Hotels in New York

Just because you’re coming to New York on business, it doesn’t mean it has to be all work and no play. Sure, you’ll need a New York business hotel with all the facilities to help you get the job done, but pick the location wisely, and you’ll maximise the opportunities to see the sights. Your walk to the office or convention centre will feel like a scene from a movie – don’t forget to grab a freshly-baked bagel on the way.

Things to see

New York is a city which means business – you can sense it in every skyscraper, from the art deco Chrysler Building, which conjures up glamorous images of Mad Men style ad agencies, to the ostentatious wealth of the soaring Rockefeller Center. The views from the Top of the Rock rival those from the Empire State Building, and are perhaps even better, because you have the latter as the focus of the cityscape, creating a perfect NYC vision, so it’s worth doing both if you have time. If you’re in town for a major event, you may well end up at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center, a hulking, glass-fronted building in Hell’s Kitchen. It’s got conventions down to a fine art, hosting everything from Comi Con to industry fairs. When you need a breather, take a stroll through Central Park, where the air’s clean and the frantic city pace slows.

Hotels in New York

When it comes to business hotels, New York is expert. In the luxury New York business hotels such as Hotel Mela Times Square, you’ll have a beautifully-designed suite with plenty of space for work and rest, with helpful amenities like laptop safes, as well as little luxuries like designer toiletries and Egyptian cotton sheets. These hotels tend to have state-of-the art business and conference facilities, along with more relaxed bars and lounges where you can unwind after a long day. There are plenty of mid-range New York business hotels too, offering business centres, free WiFi, and helpful services like printing. Rooms generally come equipped with desks. Pod 39 would be one of your options.

Where to stay

Midtown Manhattan is a strategic choice of location, both for business and leisure. You’ll be in the heart of the Manhattan business district, but it’s also bursting with museums, restaurants and entertainment venues for the full New York experience. There are numerous luxury hotels here, as well as a few mid-range options. Downtown Manhattan has a good choice of business hotels too, and it’s where the Wall Street pack works and plays, making the nightlife as hot as the trading. The Upper West Side offers some good deals on New York business hotels, and is within easy reach of Midtown.

How to get to New York

If you’re arriving into either Newark Liberty or JFK airport, then there are numerous transport options. Many of the upmarket business hotels in New York can arrange private shuttles to whisk you from the airport direct to the hotel, while public shuttles are also available to Manhattan. The quickest option can be to take the Air Train – from Newark, it’s a 30-minute journey to Penn Station, while JFK’s service connects with the subway system and it takes a total of 50 minutes to reach Midtown Manhattan. Once in the city, the subway or taxis are easy options for getting around.
