Known as the "Crossroads of the World", Times Square is a dazzling intersection famed for its lavish neon signs, grand theaters, and pulsating crowds. Whether you're on your way to a Broadway show, a buzzing bar or one of the family-friendly restaurant that line the streets, look out for iconic structures like the Paramount Building and One Times Square – site of the celebrated New Year's Eve ball drop.
One of the art capitals of the world, Chelsea has literally hundreds of renowned galleries to explore, including the Gagosian and the Gladstone. A taste of New York life can be had at Chelsea Market, a vast warren of artisan food stalls. The High Line, an elevated promenade, offers fantastic views of this upscale neighbourhood, while the Chelsea Piers – intended destination of the Titanic – is a great Manhattan landmark.
Think "New York City" and the sights of Midtown East will spring to mind . There's the towering Art Deco splendor of the Chrysler Building, the gleaming edges of the Empire State Building, and the opulence of Grand Central – arguably the world's most famous train station. For top flight shopping, make your way to Saks Fifth Avenue, and you can even walk the corridors of power at the UN Headquarters.
Anyone visiting the Big Apple will want to explore Midtown West – this is where the razzle dazzle of Times Square is, after all. Take in a show on Broadway or, if you fancy giving your mind a workout, take a tour of the celebrated Museum of Modern Art (or MoMA). And when your tummy starts rumbling, check out the French brasseries, sushi bars and Russian eateries on Restaurant Row.
Sandwiched between the winding Hudson River and lush Central Park, Manhattan's Upper West Side is home to New York's most exclusive high-rise apartments, as well as Columbia University. The American Museum of Natural History makes it a history-buff's dream, while the Lincoln Center showcases everything from opera to jazz. A stroll around Riverside Park in full bloom is a fine way to spend a sunny day.

We did our booking at Pod 51 right at the last minute before boarding our plane. It was one of the wisest choice... Pod 51 is located at a vry accessible location to airtrain, a small park, a couple of embassies, food outlets with reasonable price & it's within walking distance to a lot of tourist attraction n shopping malls!!! I will recommend this definitely & looking forward to a return holiday to NY with Pod 51!! Oh... We just lurv d rooftop terrace with a nice view too!! ❤

Pod 39 is very conveniently located. It is close to the city and everything is within a walking distance of 30 mins. Staff are really polite and helpful as well. There is a front desk that helps you with the tours and airport transfer too!
"excellent location, no-frills but sufficient"
Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 17, 2013
Very clean room and bed sheets & duvet. The room was kept warm while we were away into the freezing NY night. Wished they had two washing machines & drier instead of one each, but other residents were nice enough to take out and fold former users' clothes neatly :-) instead of taking them out in a messy pile. Breakfast was without frills but very complete and beyond our expectation of "complementary". All in all, very satisfying stay we had!
"Lovely and cosy!"

We arrived at 8am, expecting to just doze on the couch at the lobby until we were allowed to check-in. To our utmost surprise, we were given our room keys within 5 mins. Considering we just had a domestic red-eye flight before that, we were extremely grateful that we could catch up a bit on rest before we orientate ourselves in NY. We knew we made the right choice immediately as we got into our room. The building was so cosy and the room was reasonably spacious. While we were initially disappointed that there was no coffee maker in the room, that was more than made up for when we learnt we had 24-hour access to hot water and coffee and light snacks at the 'living room' of the hotel ground floor, where we had our daily breakfast too. Each of us in my group had our own 'life-saver''there - toasted bagels, Croissant, little scones, and a good selection of hot tea for everyone. The location was excellent to explore lower Manhattan, and easy to commute to other parts of the city. There were lesser eating options (most shops don't open on Sundays, when the nearby offices are closed) but really, not an issue as we usually started the day out early and came back late after dinner.
"Almost like home!"

We appreciated the free laundry service very much, especially since our stay was towards the last 5 nights of our 3-weeks long stay in the States. The thought of doing all the laundry only when we are back home was rather demoralising. So, we were more than delighted to learn that we could do our laundry for free (detergent/softener pack can be purchased at only 2 USD) at the hotel! The kitchenette also meant we had access to hot water anytime of the day - essential as the weather outside was always between -2 to 2 deg cel. There was no daily room servicing (for stays under 7 nights), so we had our beds unmade. But, the staff was very prompt to exchange our towels when we requested. So, not an issue at all. The front desk was not exactly warm and friendly, but they were definitely efficient and polite - already a plus, based on experience at other hotels.
"Do not stay in basement rooms"

Extremely noisy since the basement rooms are located next to their laundry store room. Noise can go on till the wee hours of the morning and despite complaining, it was futile. Staff was not in the least helpful.
"A week in New York"
Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 9, 2012
Hotel location turned out to be better than I thought. The Grey Line office is just round the corner and one could book the hop-on-hop-off tour (2 days of bus) at a good rate to travel around. Just a block and a half from Times Square and the numerous theatres - including the TKTS ticketing office. Excellent locale. Hotel room itself was ok and pleasant. Bed a bit small for a party of 4 in a room; but to be expected since this is New York city. A little noisy as well as there is a fire station down across the street, but bearable.
we loved this hotel! we were here just 1-2 months after they completed renovation, so it was a real treat to find it “new”, clean and everything running almost like clockwork (though their hot water broke down on our last morning! :p but they got it fixed by the afternoon). we took the room with 2 double beds, which was a luxury - big and spacious, not crammed at all! drainage in the attached toilet/shower worked perfectly fine, whereas in another hotel we stayed at last year, drainage was simply awful. sure hope seton hotel maintains these new standards for a long time!! after we checked out, we had a late night flight, and the hotel staff were kind enough to allow us to use the shared toilets and also loaned us towels so we could take a final shower before the long flight home. there was 1 drawback in the room, which was the really loud aircon, something which we have read quite a few other complaints about before - since it was late fall, we didn't really need it, but i think in summer the noise might get unbearable... it would be great if they could overhaul their units! there is also only the 1 small lift in the building which moves a little slow, but you just need a little patience and everyone can get up/down :) location was perfect, just 2-3 blocks from grand central, with many choices of eateries, cafes and drugstores within walking distance, extremely convenient! we would definitely stay here again (if the standards of the hotel are maintained!).
