"Great for family with older kids"

We had a junior family suite,2 x adults 2 x teenagers. The hotel is great. Its about a 10-15 min walk from the beach restaurants and markets, which was no problem for us, but might be if you dont like to walk in the heat.
"recommended for honeymooners, secluded getaways"

service-good,prompt and helpful (limited english, but ok). Condition of hotel is good, new and fresh looking. when i checked in room was already prepared, air condition on,made up beds, etc where things were supposed to be,except for a little sandy floors.i stayed in beachview with outdoor tub (vulnerable to dirt because of it being outdoor, request them to clean first!). biggest issue i believe for some would be the location, Panwa is not exactly Patong or Karon, quite, secluded and far out of reach (not nearby other bigger hotels too, and i would highly encourage renting a car (unless you're staying only in the hotel). breakfast std fare, no dinner tried here. night views are romantic with the walkways and 'au natural' feel. Overall great stay, remember - secluded location (hence car rental would be good choice, value for money, romantic)

Slipping into the pool from your balcony and swimming to the pool bar were the highlights of a relaxing stay here. The staff were warm, friendly and accommodating. The room was great from the four poster bed to the window seat to the great balacony with a fan for muggy days. The restaurant offered both Thai and western food. Great value for money!
"Decently priced but not the best value"

The hotel is situated just above a nice hill above Karon beach. Stay here with parents, but if u crave for more action, head towards Patong with the shuttle. wireless may not be complimentary if stay in the "non priviledged" wing . theme dinners are a good idea, but by the second night, they taste similar and i went out for BBQ seafood by the beach ~ Overall decent place
"affordable 4 star hotel"

Me and my boyfriend stayed for 4D3N at the hotel and the experience is fantastic! Staff were attentive and friendly. we offer to stay in a room overseing the pool & bar area (really good view for relaxation) However, wifi is not available and we had to pay for 300 baht for a 6hrs usahe. Breakfast buffet were at reasonably so so...We rented a motorbike for 350 baht for the whole day. The hotel was about 15 mins walk to karon beach (very nice beach resort) and shopping and dining area (lots to shop and lots of restaurants!) Overall, we are very satisfied and will want to check in with the same hotel again on our next visit!

My wife and I spent 3 nights here over the Easter weekend.
Location: Quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle, perfect for those who want a place to relax on the beach or by one of the many pools they have.
Room: Clean and spacious (we stayed in a one-bedroom suite next to the pool).
Customer service: Very warm, friendly and attentive. In particular, I would like to commend Jean Marie (not sure if I spelled his name right) for being really friendly and warm. He had served us when we had lunch at the Bamboo Bar on the beach, and when he bumped into us later that day--not once, but twice--he remembered us, gave us a friendly smile, and said hi.
Facilities: Full use of the facilities at the more expensive sister hotel, Cape Panwa hotel, just next door and a short 10-min ride away by the free hotel shuttle.
Dining: We love Thai food, so that is all we had. Besides the restaurants in the hotel, there are several options along the street just outside. Not cheap by Thai standards, but still quite affordable. A typical Thai meal for us (3 dishes, 2 plates of rice, and 2 juices or shakes) cost about 500 baht. Laem Panwa (Thai & Seafood) was pretty good, Sawasdee Restaurant (Thai) was not quite as good, and our favorite was Keang Lay Restaurant--slightly cheaper, but still as good.
Transportation: The hotel provides transportation to/from the hotel for 1,000 baht, one-way and to/from Phuket town for 160 baht for a round trip. We took a taxi from the airport for 800 baht. The lady at the taxi counter wanted to charge 1,200 baht! There is also a metered taxi counter (turn right as you come out of the airport) but we did not know of this. The return trip was more expensive--the man at the taxi stand outside the hotel would not budge from his price of 900 baht.
We were very satisfied with our stay. Will definitely return here when we need a short getaway!
"Karon Beach Resort and Spa-great location."

We stayed for 6 nights in early April. We had a ground floor room which interconnected with our son's room. I would recommend a ground floor room if you have children as it makes it easy to get to the pool and beach. However, try and request a room away from the pool bar and restaurant area as a band plays every night until about 10pm. Annoying if you have small children trying to sleep. The food at the restaurant was fantastic-couldn't fault it.
Had trouble getting a hot shower at 7am every morning.
The breakfast buffet was good-lots of Western and Asian choices. The view from the tables was fantastic-looking over the beach.
The pool was small but nice. Only criticism was that there was not a lot of room around the pool for kids to play. The sun loungers took up all the available space. It would have helped if the staff were proactive in roaming the pool and asking for drink/food orders.
